1) Membership is open to all persons who are teaching swimming.

Swimming Teachers that are eligible for membership of the Association are defined as:

i) Professional teacher of swimming, full time or part time
ii) Swimming pool personnel who teach swimming on a full time or part time basis in the course of their official duties.
iii) Person engaged in the teaching or coaching of swimming at club level

There shall be the following grade of membership

a) Fellow Members

This membership is granted to members holding the total period of ten years service in the Council subject to the Association approval by the Council. Fellow membership is granted to members who have contributed their service significantly to the Association and those who are senior members of 55 years and above. Fellow members are entitled to a non payment subscription fee.

b) Master Members

This membership is for persons who hold the Ordinary membership for more than five years .Memberships is subjected to approval by the Council. Master membership has full voting rights and is eligible to stand for office within the Association.

c) Ordinary Members

The Ordinary member is open to all Malaysian Swimming teachers .This memberships is for persons of 18 years and above who holds at least the Bronze medallion of the Malaysian Life Saving Society(LSSM) or International Lifesaving Certificate(ILS) and Teaching certificate from this Association.

Ordinary membership has full voting rights and is eligible to stand for office within the Association. This Membership is subjected to approval by the Council.

d) Associate Members

This membership is for persons of 18 years and above who hold the Bronze medallion from the Malaysian Life Saving Society, together with any other teaching certificates that are approved by the Association. Associate members have no voting rights.

e) Trainee Members

This membership is for young enthusiasts of ages 16 to 20, who hold a Junior Life saving certificate, together with the Basic Teachers Certificate of this Association. Members under the age of 18 years are to submit a letter of consent from their parents. Trainee members are not entitled to vote and have no voting rights.

e) Institution/Club Members

This membership is for Institutions that are registered.
Institution members must have at least 3 active Ordinary members in their institute. Each Institute is allowed to send 2 representatives. Representatives are not entitled to vote and have no voting rights. This Membership is subjected to approval by the Council.

Each application for membership is to be proposed and seconded by an existing member, where by Forms must be submitted to the Secretary who is required to submit the application as soon as possible for the council to consider. The Council has the discretion to reject any application without assigning any reason.

Each application shall be accompanied by the appropriate registration fee as determined by the Council of the Association from time to time.

The Council has the power to suspend or expel a member who is guilty of any conduct of a discreditable nature that may bring the Association into disrepute or who acts to the detriment of the interests of the Association or who is guilty of a breach of the association’s rules

SUBCRIPTIONS

The Annual Subscriptions, which shall be payable in advance on January 1st each year, shall be initially determined by the Council of the Association at the General Meeting.

Fellow Member : No subscription required
Master Member : RM 60.00 per biennium
Ordinary Member : RM 50.00 per biennium
Associate Member : RM 40.00 per biennium
Trainee Member : RM 20.00 per biennium
Institution Member : RM 400 .00 per biennium
